History

Griffin & Associates has a strong history of providing a quality taxation and accounting service to businesses within the North Queensland region.

In 1988, David Griffin established a small accounting practice located in a modest office in Belgian Gardens. Operating from this humble abode with only 2 clients, David Griffin & Associates was born.

During the early 1990’s, the practice relocated from Belgian Gardens to Stanley Street.  During this time practices were also acquired in both Bowen and Ayr. After several years of travelling up and down the coast, the practices in Bowen and Ayr were sold.  All accounting services were then consolidated back to a central location in Townsville.

In 1996, the practice relocated from Stanley Street to its current location in Denham Street, Townsville.

Following an increase in number of professional staff operating within the office, the practice rebranded to its current name of Griffin & Associates in 2005.

In 2013, Brett Zecchini was invited to join the practice as a Director and equal owner with David Griffin.

In 2019, David Griffin exited the practice after working in the accounting profession for more than 33 years.  Brett Zecchini became the sole Director and owner upon David’s retirement from the accounting profession.

Whilst today the name has changed and the office relocated, a certainty remains within the business from a long established history. This certainty comes from the genuine professional people who make Griffin & Associates the respected resource it is today.

The quality accounting services provided by Griffin & Associates also stems from David’s commitment in the early years.  This commitment was to expand the practice with the vision to grow both the business and client’s profits. By no means does this reputation for quality happen without a clear focus and vision to provide the best possible service to all clients.
